Cosmetology is a huge part of everyday life. Cosmetology has become more and will continue to become more of a top priority in many lives. They provide multiple things such as facial treatments, makeup analysis, and hair care. People undermine cosmetologists and think that their job is an easy way out, a job to do when all else fails, a backup plan but it’s not. I believe being a cosmetologist is a very respectable job because if you don't do it who will? Cosmetologists are a huge part of our everyday life but do they get paid enough, or get enough education?
To be a cosmetologist you have to have your high school diploma, and complete a state licensed barber or cosmetology school. “To get your license, certifications, and registrations you have to reach the age of 16, have a diploma and graduate from a barber-cosmetology school”(careersinfocus). A course depending on where you go and how hard you try for it usually takes up to 50 weeks to complete. 50 weeks in my opinion is not a lot of school and i feel like there should be more education for people who want to further their career in cosmetology. If there is more education in this field of study i feel that there could be more possibilities and better workers.
