Out of the 37 plays and 154 sonnets that Shakespeare wrote, “Much Ado About Nothing” has become one his most popular pieces. The comedy follows Don Pedro, Claudio, and Benedick after they return home from war. Upon meeting Hero, Claudio immediately falls in love with her, and with the help of Don Pedro, Hero agrees to marry him. As they prepare for the wedding, Don Pedro plans to get Beatrice and Benedick together while Don John plots to ruin Hero and Claudio’s relationship. Both succeed, as Beatrice and Benedick admit their love for each other, and Claudio shames Hero at their wedding, believing that she had cheated on him. By the next day, they discover that Don John had staged the scene, and Claudio and Hero still got married, and Benedick got engaged to Beatrice. Throughout the play, Shakespeare uses character foils to emphasize the traits of his characters, and add to his story. In this novel, the narrator mentions about the Wall that is built across the church which force some people in Gilead getting separate from the others. Margaret Atwood uses the reference of the Berlin wall to describe the wall in this novel. The Berlin wall was built by the Democratic republic to separate Germany into East Berlin and West Berlin. Proves of that will be the similarities of both wall including the barriers that placed around these walls and the consequences of the rebellions who against the public policies and usage of these walls.…
From peoples point of view of the country the wall meant that they had no rights or freedom and it restricted them from many things. Trains and subways went back and forth carrying passengers across the border every day, but after the wall was built it no longer became possible to get from east to west Berlin. Once the trains and subways were no longer aloud across there was really no use for them because people could not get to where they wanted to go. They could not get to certain places such as the movies, the store, or anywhere that involved passing the border for any reason. For east Germany luxuries such as coffee were off limits and they could not get them anymore due to the wall.…
Everywhere around the world, barriers located on each and every continent. From the common American's back yard to the Great Wall of China, we use them for privacy and security, but not all uses of walls have good intentions behind them. An example such as the Berlin Wall, created in 1961, divided East and Western Germany until it's fall in 1992. The North-South Korean border (also known as the Korean DMZ) was created to diffuse tension between the two sister countries, and although it was created with peaceful intentions in mind, the border has suffered thousands of casualties since it's creation in 1953. A more recent boundary is the Israeli-Palestinian wall, which is seen as highly controversial in the middle east ( some Arabs even call it the wall of apartheid), yet the Israeli government insist that it protects the people. Though all of these walls were built for different purposes, they all achieved one goal, and \that is the separation of the people. Since the Berlin wall is the most infamous wall in recent time, I will be focusing on the economical, social, and environmental consequences of its construction.…
Berlin from 1961 to 1989 was either a place of hardships and sacrifice, or peace and prosperity depending on which side of the Berlin Wall the Germans lived on. The two different governments that resided over Berlin could not have been more different, each enforcing their own laws, beliefs and propaganda on the people residing within their borders. West Germany, also known as the Federal Republic of Germany, was established on the twenty-third of May 1949, when the three allied forces occupying Germany amalgamated to form one separate country. As West Germany was under western influence, the western powers helped them to set up a democratic parliamentary government, and aided in any post-war rehabilitation. The same amalgamation occurred within…

The Berlin Wall, built in August of 1961, was s physical symbol of the political and emotional divisions of Germany. The Wall was built because of a long lasting suspicion between the Soviet Union on one side and Western Europe and the United States on the other. For 28 years the Berlin Wall separated friends, families, and a nation. After WWII was over Germany was divided into four parts. The United States, Great Britain, and France controlled the three divisions that were formed in the Western half and the Eastern half was controlled by the Soviet Republic. The Western sections eventually united to make a federal republic, while the Eastern half became communist.…
