The Best Gift
What is a gift? A gift is something that is given without anything in return. Any gift I have received has been very special to me, but one gift in particular stands out. The gift took me by complete surprise. The best gift I have received was my Kindle Fire. I received it on a Sunday morning church service as a graduation present. It was also my first ever tablet. My Kindle Fire is my best gift, by far. The four graduation seniors at my church all received one. I happened to be one of them. The excitement I felt as I got my white gift bag covered from top to bottom in green and pink polka-dots was immeasurable. I was expecting something along the lines of a picture frame or bible, but not a tablet. I opened my bag later that afternoon and saw the Kindle/Amazon box and almost shouted out in excitement and joy. The Kindle was black, sleek, and shiny. It has a 7” screen and fits almost perfectly in my hand. I haven’t left my Kindle alone since the day I got it. My Kindle was special to me because it was my first e-reader or tablet. It was also special to me because it was given to me by a group of people I consider my family, as well as my friends. Coming from a low budget family, I never had the opportunity to get fancy gifts such as this. The fact that someone would go out and spend that money on me was something I can’t ever get over. Any gift I receive does that to me, though. Gifts always mean so much to me, but something that I can take and use for music, reading, and school is like the icing on the cake. This gift was given to me on a Sunday morning before I graduated, as a graduation gift. Every year the church will give gifts to the graduating seniors and we only had four that year. I was one of them, and I find myself to be extremely lucky to be a part of this church. They have done a lot for me, even more than gifting me a Kindle Fire. My gift still makes me completely happy to this day. I still use it every day and have many applications installed
