The Biggest Influence on My Life
If someone were to ask me who the most influential person in my life was, I'd most likely tell him or her that it's my brother, Chris. My brother is one of the most important people in my life. I may not always act like it, but I look up to him and respect him. It's hard to think of everything he's done for me and not like him.

There's the basic stuff that most older brothers do. You know, baby-sit you, help you with your homework, and let you use their stuff. But my brother did a lot more for me. He was the one who taught me how to read and how to tie my shoes. He taught me how to hold my breath underwater. He even taught me how not to touch his things.

He also did other typical big brother stuff. Like shut me in the closet, play tricks on me, "forbid" me to use his stuff. But for each 'mean' thing he did to me, he did about five nice things. One nice thing he did was that he always let me hang around him and his friends. Because of that I actually have two brothers instead of one.

My other "brother" is Chris's best friend, Corey. They spent a lot of time together when they were younger, and since Chris was nice, I usually got to do stuff with them. Since Corey was as much my brother as Chris was, of course they both pulled little tricks on me. But I must admit a lot of the tricks worked because I was a slightly gullible child.

One that readily comes to mind is when Chris and Corey tried, and succeeded, to convince me that they were being sucked into the ground. I was so convinced that I went inside and told Mom that they were being sucked down. As I said, I was a slightly gullible child. Another little prank was when one of my friends was over while Mom and Dad were bowling and Chris and Corey were baby-sitting us. We hid in the bathroom and locked the door, and they decided to take a rope, open the closet door, which is across from the bathroom and opens out, tie one end to the closet door knob, and tie the other end to the bathroom door knob.

Looking over a couple theories that related to Chris and his family, it seemed like attachment theory fit best. I believe that attachment theory is best for Chris because he had that secure attachment with his mom that allowed him branch out and do something completely unexpected of him. He knew that if anything went wrong he had someone there who had his back, which was his mom and sister. That knowledge of security allowed him to go on this journey and experience the unknown. Attachment theory, established by John Bowlby, is a set a concepts that are used to explain the emergence of the emotional bond that forms between an infant and their primary caregiver. It then goes on to explore that way in which the bond affects the child’s emotional…

I have had multiple influential people in my life, but I'm not going to say my parents or a great teacher, but rather someone closer to my age. Andrew Calton, a good friend and great influence. Andrew helped me “get back on my feet” when I was scared to kayak. I would stay on the lake and not go on rivers because I had no confidence in myself. Late at night he and Jack White, another good friend, came to my cabin at camp and told me there was a spot on a trip and he wanted me to go. I went on the trip and the fact that they wanted me to go boosted my confidence. We went on harder rivers I had never been on and I did not swim, or bail out of by boat once.…

As a little girl I wanted to be just like Hannah Montana. As I got older, I wanted to be like Rachel Berry, a small town girl living out a big town dream. I wanted to be looked up to because of my musical talent. Walking into Mrs. Kaiser's 7th hour, 8th grade band, I didn't know that music would have such an impact in my life. Music has become the spark of my intellectual curiosity. There are millions of combinations of key signatures, chords, melodies and rhythm in the world of music just waiting to become attached to a sheet of staff lines and spaces. Ever since my first experience with music in the fourth grade, my mind began to explore all these combinations of problems. Music helped me with math, english and gave me a place to escape when I was put into undesirable situations. In Middle…

There are many biopsychosocial influences that could affect me this semester. The main biopsychosocial influence that I believe will have an effect on me is socio – cultural with homesickness and being lonely. I am a triplet and I have always gone to school with my siblings, so not seeing them every day could be a challenge for me. The other biopsychosocial influence that I may deal with this semester is biological with not eating as much as I should because I have classes during lunch most of the week. The last biopsychosocial influence that may impact me this semester is psychological with depression and anxiety because I get really anxious over school work and I also don’t have any classes with my roommate which could lead to me having depression. All of these biopsychosocial influences could seriously have an effect on me this semester.…

I have two older sisters and one younger brother. My first older sister is Brandy she is 21 years old and is the closest sibling to me. My other older sister is Cassidy she is 26 years and has a 1 year old son. My younger brother is named Michael he is 12 years old. Life with siblings is good and bad depending on how you look at it. My sister Brandy and I never really got along because we were closest in age. When I was little she would always make fun of me and hit me; however, she wouldn’t let anybody make fun of me or touch me on the bus or at school. I always looked up to her because she had everything. When I started getting older around 14 years old things changed I started to beat her at games and got stronger so she would be scared to hit me because she knows that she would get it back. By the time I was 17 we started getting along; we would go to the mall together and not fight or argue. My sister Cassidy and I never fought and she was always there for me. Since the age difference is so high we had no need to fight. She would always take me places and do things for me like an older sister should. She was the best older sister I could ask for. My brother Michael and I never got along. He was the most annoying brother in the world. Brandy never really got along with him either. Since I am the older brother my parents would always try and make me do stuff for him and take him places but I would always refuse. If I ever took him in my car he would be so annoying playing with my windows and touching everything in my…
