If You Don’t Mind, It Don’t Matter
I selected Mickey Rourke as the subject of my psychoanalysis. Initially, I chose Rourke because I thought his rugged face must hold a story. After consideration I also found an abundance of researchable material about his life. This would make my project more credible, and make my job easier. I was attracted to Mickey Rourke because has played roles in a few of the movies I have watched, recently. While watching these movies I have always wondered what happened to his face. He didn’t look the same as the actor I had seen in the 80’s, and I wanted to know why. I also wondered what had brought on the recent comeback. Could it be attributed to the change in his appearance or had something else changed in his life? I did not have the answers for these questions so I went and found them.

He was raised Roman Catholic and still practices his faith (Biography for Mickey Rourke, 2012). Mickey has received severe facial injuries, and more than one concussion, during his boxing career. He is extroverted and scales high in both the neuroticism and psychoticism scale (Dr. William Cameron, 2011). He also alleges his step brothers and step father show a tendency towards these traits.
At age six, Rourke’s biological father abandoned him. Since then he has shown resentment towards his mother, for the situation she put him in when she married Eugene Addis, a Miami Beach police officer with five sons (Biography for Mickey Rourke,
