Leigh Anne was offended by the insulation that her high class friends made was because this was what she has strived for and is it not that your friends are the ones that are supposed to support you? Right when Leigh Anne’s friends heard this they became restricted in such a way it is somewhat disturbing on how stuck up one can is when they think they have everything. The movie of The Blind Side attempted to mimic the book as much as possible, however there were noticeable choices that the director made that changed the presentation of the movie compared to the picture that the book created. One of the main choices was to cut out a lot of the football facts that were presented in the book. Throughout the book, numerous chapters were dedicated to talking about the history of the importance of the left tackle and other players in the game, but in the movie, almost all of those scenes were cut out. This made the movie move faster unlike the book which was slow moving at times.…

Her goal is definitely to get back into school and complete what she had…

The main character in the story is Dina. She is an African American college student who is attending a prestigious university. Her character contributes to the theme in the sense that she has “denied” her heritage and upbringing by breaking the mold of what might have expected of her to accomplish as a young adult. While it is an inaccurate and ignorant stereotype to assume one is “selling out” or acting outside of their race for choosing to become educated and show an interest in learning, it is a stereotype that definitely exists. One of the places in the story that this is apparent is in her recollection of the trip to the grocery store. She recounts how unacceptable it was in her neighborhood to be seen with a book that one may be reading for simple pleasure as opposed obligation for school. She grew up in a poverty stricken neighborhood where going to a place like Yale was not something that happened to most of the youth brought up there. The theme of denial continues with her resistance to submit to her lesbianism. It’s very apparent that she has a deep seeded resentment of men that started with her father who treated her mother very poorly, and in her own words says, “My mother had died slowly. At the hospital, they'd said it was kidney failure, but I knew that, in the end, it was my father. He made her scared to live in her own home, until she was finally driven away from it in an ambulance.” Her disapproval of men in general also appears in the way that she speaks of her friend Heidi’s…

Kevin Carr’s review is the most organized of these two reviews. If readers are looking for the bad parts of the movie then they can go straight to the “What I didn’t like” section and read Carr’s negative thoughts. This review does a good job of covering all the main points. Instead of having to search the whole two page review just to see what is bad about the movie. It doesn’t drag things out and is straight to the point. When I am looking for a quick review, these are the ones I go to for opinions.…

After watching the movie The Blindside my opinion has changed on whether or not I believe there should be a proper definition of a family. The Tuohy’s made it evident that although you might fit a certain status in society, love is what conquers all. Mrs. Leigh Anne Tuohy and her family were a perfect example of how a Christian family should live like. The characteristics that the whole family possessed is what made Michael Oher finally feel as if he was at home. The Tuohy family was overall accepting towards Michael Oher, they brought forth unconditional love and so did he, and lastly they made him feel secure. These characteristics are characteristics that I believe all families should possess in order for a member of the family to succeed in society.…
