The blue bird was performed in the third act, the wedding. It was set during the wedding of Princes Aurora and Prince Phillip. The “Blue birds “was an act of an entertainment along with others ballets. It was a fancy wedding the music was nice and smoothing. There was 1 male solo and a female solo. The Sleeping Beauty. The third act features the jubilant wedding celebration of Princess Aurora to Prince Florimund. The male dancer’s costume consists of bright blue tights, feathers around the arm, with a feathery headpiece and a blue ballet shoes. After a lifetime of ballet Marius Petipa, the Frenchman who came to be known as "the father of Russian ballet," left us a legacy of classical ballet that continues to this day. He greatly expanded the role of male dancers and we have him to thank for the leaping, twirling, breathtaking men's choreography we see in ballets now. While numbers are hard to find it appears that he staged at least fifty original ballets and created dances to thirty-five operas in addition to reviving another seventeen ballets. In reality he probably contributed to many, many more productions.
The two integral non dance components, which helped in the development of the mood, were costume and music. The male leads his dress in a blue unltard covered in blue feathers, which is covered over his arms like wings. The female is in a tutu with sparkling feathers. Tchhovosky used instruments such as Piccolo, Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Cornets Trumpets, Triangle, Tambourine, Cymbals and a violin to create a sound of an early morning with birds chirping, theses components assisted along with the moments to create the sense of the two birds.
