The story begins with the crash of the boat ¨Lady Vain¨ with a derelict. In this boat was Mr. Edward Prendick, the only man who was found. Now Edward is in a cabin he didn´t knew that he was there until he wakes up, a man was sited holding his wrist. For a minute, they just started looking each other without speaking. For my written analysis, I found this beautiful painting by artist Andrew Palyanov, called Final Boat. The atmospheric perspective of this piece is haunting, demonstrating implied depth and distance despite the fog that only partially obscures the autumn setting. Vertical placement is well-represented, first with a majestic tree closest to the foreground, so close that we can see the details of each leaf and branch. Additionally, the foreground contains a small rowboat, as well as the shallows of the water where tree branches are reflected from directly above. In the middle ground are the gazebo, as well as still more trees on a spit of land that jutts out into the water to overlap the trees on the far side.…

Moreau, was there to help keep them civilized and humanlike. Most Beast Folk, I detected kept the Law out of fear of returning to the House of Pain, or where Dr. Moreau did his surgical experiments. However, when the creatures notice that they can escape the punishment later in the book, they rebel and break the Law. By breaking the law though, the animal-men slowly turn themselves into primitive animals. When the Law is intact though, when any of the normal humans saw a Beast Folk break a law, they feared the House of Pain so much they would do anything to escape, even if it meant attempting to kill the human, like in the Leopard Man’s…

Ian, Charla, Luke, and Will wash up on the island, separated from J.J. ad Lyssa, while Charla, Luke, and Ian are finding food Will wakes up with amnesia having no memory of CNC or the other castaways (other than Lyssa) and runs away into the jungle.…

While Stephen Crane embraced modernity in The Open Boat, T.S. Eliot, and John Crowe Ransom found the dawning of modern society alarming in the “The Wasteland” and “Janet Waking.” As Crane tells society to “wake up” to the reality of nature and human existence, Eliot and Ransom struggle to pick up the pieces from an earlier time in order to find peace in the modern world. Eliot tries to bridge the gap between logic and creativity as Ransom looks back to the agrarian culture to cease the struggle between reason and sensibility in contemporary society. Once awoken, Eliot and Ransom yearn for the days of old and seek to find the true purpose of life, which seems lost to the modernist but evident…
