The Book Of Eli Analysis
Thank you for a very interesting post Star Wars movie. It is very clear, with a good explanation and statements.
Interesting how movies “Star Wars” and “The Book of Eli” propose different ideas, but still bring one meaning: faith is power. Misuse of the “force” and misuse of Bible words can bring a catastrophe into the world. It feels right to say that moral and spiritual codes should be followed in order to keep it in piece.

Yet as the room itself darkens, the vast movie screen brightens in contrast, and the peal of a single trumpet heralds a familiar tune. "It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory," the screen announces. Fans' eyes dart to read this opening of Star Wars: A New Hope, now a pinnacle in the domain of science fiction. Millions applaud its classical texture: the slight taste of fairy tale archetypes that appeals to a variety of audiences. These same paradigms also complement an underlying theme of the trilogy. Many events opened up the book in chapter 1 of The Great Gatsby, indicating that this book would appeal to many in a sense that it could be easily connected to. A significant quote from chapter 1 is a thought from Nick explaining his family heritage. Nick says “The Carraways are something of a clan, and we have a tradition that we're descended from the Dukes of Buccleuch, but the actual founder of my line was my grandfather's brother, who came here in fifty-one, sent a substitute to the Civil War, and started the wholesale hardware business that my father carries on to-day.” Most would see this as him describing his family heritage, but when read more in depth you realize that he is trying to illustrate that his family achieved the American Dream through persistence and hard work. He mentions “the Dukes of Buccleuch” to create his point that they sound like they come from a family who inherits the American Dream, but notifies the reader that his family achieved the American Dream by working towards it. As you read on you learn that Jay Gatsby inherited his wealth, giving Nick a bad perception of him due to the fact that Nick’s family has worked to achieve their wealth, yet to Gatsby the American Dream is just the pursuit of self pleasure. All in all, the quote relates well to the characters, but also to the theme that no matter how wealthy you are, you cannot buy yourself the happiness you can obtain through hard work towards the true American Dream.…

Is it socially acceptable behaviour for people to dedicate their lives to an object? Sure, one might say. People have passions and hobbies; these “objects” are worked hard for and should be enjoyed. Although most would say that this type of behaviour is not how normal people should live and that life’s fruition lies in the hands of social interaction; we can only truly enjoy life in the company of other humans, not objects. Where is the line drawn? Is it possible to cling on to a possession so much that it starts to detrimentally affect the person involved? W.D. Valgardson’s short story The Novice demonstrates that this is certainly a possibility. The protagonist undergoes a similar situation; he gets caught up in idealism (glamorizing his boat – his prized possession (named Sally Anne) – to nearly abnormal proportions) which skews his perception of “truth”. The reason he acts this way is due to his lonely, one dimensional, and peculiar lifestyle. Readers of Valgardson’s short story should learn that people are prone to romanticizing their material possessions, and that such behavior is caused by isolation and the refusal to live in accordance to societal norms, which is likely to result consequences such as irrational thoughts and the inability to face the truth.…

Language has the power to stop wars, to solve conflicts; however, perhaps one of the most important forces of language is the power to create emotion, to create meaning. In the event that language is effectively utilized, it can evoke deep emotion from the reader and induce extensive thought in order to connect the words to the meaning. An author can manipulate language to convey their message by their choice of diction throughout a passage or by further applying various forms of figurative language to create imagery.…

    Romeo: Static Character

Throughout the play we see that Romeo’s impulsive decisions land him in onerous situations. His capricious behavior is demonstrated through his rash love when he immediately moves on, without remorse or second thoughts, from Rosaline to Juliet whom he falls in love with instantly after laying eyes on her. Prior to seeing Juliet, Romeo talks about his infatuation with Rosaline, and the torment he suffers when he finds she does not love him back. Upon searching for her at the Capulet’s party, sees Juliet, when he says, “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night,” (i.V.51). His immediate transition between lovers proves that his love for Juliet was impulsive and irrational. When Romeo hears of Juliet’s death, he says to himself, “Well Juliet, I will lie with thee tonight. Let’s see for means.” (V.i.34). His first thought is that if Juliet is dead, he must dies too. Without considering any other options or going to Friar Laurence for further details, he acts on a whim and kills himself, when in reality Juliet isn’t actually dead. These actions prove Romeo as a static character because throughout the course of the play, when his love for Juliet ignites, comes to an end, and in other situations, Romeo does not think his decisions through and acts on impulse.…
