The book Paper Towns is about main character and protagonist, Quentin Jacobsen trying to find his neighbor and secret crush Margo Roth Spiegelman after she didn’t go to school, by following clues that she left and going multiple paper towns on the map. The book starts off by introducing the main character and narrator Quentin “Q” Jacobsen and his neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman. The two used to be good friends until one night they witnessed a crime scene and Margo seemed very interested and Q didn’t and after that Margo would sneak out at night to try to solve it causing the two to drift apart. Skip to them being in high school and one night Margo comes into Q’s room through is window like when they were kids and says she wants him to help her to take revenge on her friends who have hurt her. One of the clues is to go to all the paper towns which are towns that are marked on maps but don’t actually exist. “Margo always loved mysteries. And in everything that came afterward, I could never stop thinking that maybe she loved mysteries so much that she became one.” (p.8). Margo was always interested in solving mysteries by following clues so when she would leave no one really worried but the fact that she left messages and clues makes her seem like her own
