A meticulously metaphoric book with great detail on racism and the oppression of blacks. Although, it highlights the negatives of American history, it positively powers all blacks by reminding the reader that they too are human, although they may not always be treated as so. While doing so, the book portrays the three main values at Saint Bonaventure University: discovery, community, and individual worth.…

The title of this book relates to the story, because in the book, Ponyboy and Johnny are "outsiders." They can be thought of as Outsiders because they are labeled Greasers although they do not act like hoodlums, like the rest of the Greasers. They are thought of as Greasers just because they live on the East Side of town, and because they slick back their hair. But Ponyboy and Johnny are different then all of the other Greasers because they show their emotions, and are sensitive.…

Kody Scott grew up in South Central L.A. during the nineteen-sixties and seventies, soon after the creation of the Crips. Raised in poverty without a father, and a full family raised solely by his mother, Kody Scott led the stereotypical "ghetto" life, a poor and broken home. However he does not blame this on his own personal decision to join the Crips while only eleven year's old. The allure of the respect and "glory" that "bangers" got, along with the unity of the "set"(name for the specific gang) is what drew him into the gang. Once joined, he vowed to stay in the "set" for life, and claimed that banging was his life. After many years of still believing this, he eventually realized that the thug life was no longer for him, and that gangs were a problem on society and the "Afrikan" race(page 382-383).…

Hydrocephalus can affect a wide range of people from infancy to late adulthood. It is estimated that one to two of every thousand children born will have hydrocephalus.…
