The Boy And The Boy In Marie Lu's Legend

Throughout the last two weeks, I have been reading Marie Lu’s Legend. I am currently on page 200 of the book. This book is about a girl and a boy who live very different lives but eventually come together. The boy’s name is Day and the girl’s name is June. Day is a wanted criminal for the things he has done to the government and he also killed June’s brother. June joins the military and becomes highly ranked quickly soon after her brother’s death. Her job is to find Day and bring him in so he cannot cause any more damage to the government. When the two meet June does not realize that the boy is Day and slowly starts to fall for him. Eventually she finds out it is Day and realizes that he killed her brother and she has to tell the military. While reading Marie Lu’s Legend I have been, predicting, questioning, and visualizing.
First, I have been predicting whether or not Day will be caught or not. Day is a wanted criminal. The republic is constantly hunting him down for the crimes he has committed but they can never seem to catch him. Although he got a low score on his trial test he is very smart. He never sees his family but he never leaves the area they live in, the Lake Sector. His younger brother has the virus and he
Day starts his journey by entering the hospital acting like he is injured so they let him in. He then goes to the bathroom to clean himself up and starts to crawl through the cramped vents. Day thinks, “The air shaft smells strange, and I’m grateful for the handkerchief around my face” (Lu 28). He finds the room with the medication in it and jumps down into it. He finds medication he realizes that they didn’t have the cure they only had suppressants. Over the next few moments after he got caught Day was not phlegmatic at all. He quickly exited the building by jumping from many stories up and severely injuring himself. He did escape
