In the story The Boy in the Striped Pajamas the main characters (Bruno and Shmuel) were taught to hate each other due to what society said but the characters went against society and become friends.
The theme coming from the book is that discrimination is taught not inherit. The reason this is a big problem in this book is due to the fact that Bruno's family shelters him to the point that he does not understand that the people are not having the fun he is having. Bruno doesn't understand that there is hate in the world he thinks the strongest hate is between him and his sister. This can show the reader that he knows he will most likely be told to never talk to him again as his dad strongly disagrees with the jews and does not believe they are worth anything. This is only because of what they believe in but because Bruno never learned this he didn’t care as much why he didn't understand which is the big reason I think he didn't care. If the story tells you that Bruno learns more about jews and whats going it mean that Bruno knows more and understands what is going on then he knows what this camp is and may not like it. This is really great thing to see in a boy Brunos age and very different considering his sister is not much older and believes that Germans are the superior . As the story continues the mother starts to come out as not liking how her husband acts and treats others that are different from them due to religion. As she really does not say it but you can guess thats what she means. But sounds to feel awkward when the maid scared as to when she doesn't answer her right away. But because the father is so high up with Adolf Hitler she can’t really say or do
