I noticed that there's lifes had some differences but also some similarities. Some differences are that all three brothers slept in the same bed. Its very unlikely today for that to happen. Some similarities are they did have a radio to listen to announcements that Hitler gave, or other important things. our country kind of relates to this, when people run for president. We listen to their speeches and decide who we want to represent us, just as Hitler did and won everyone over. Helmuth has a good friend who is Jewish, and over time helmuth sees him be beaten and wonders why is this happening and nobody doing anything, the Nazi people are taking them away and Helmuth really doesn't know what to think of Hitler. We now don't relate to this at all, nobody will arrest or beat for their beliefs because we are a free country, and back when Hitler was leader it seemed like a dictatorship. As Hellmuth gets more and more suspicious of third reich propaganda, he starts to listen and rely on and illegal radio station saying lots of things about hitler that people don't know that he is doing. He hears that Germany as well as british lost the war. So Helmuth decides to make a newsletter saying all this information he got from the illegal radio. In the middle of the night he hands out flyer saying all these things, about Hitler. Soon later someone turns him in and he starts getting beaten and tortured by the Nazis.
