The Brief Definition of Constitution from Malaysian Prospect.

Q.1. What do you understand by the term “constitution”?
Based on Oxford Dictionary, 2013, constitution can be defined as a body of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is acknowledged to be governed. It is also defined as the composition of something, as for an example, the genetic constitution of a species. Constitution can also be referred as an action of forming or establishing something, such as the constitution of a police authority.
Through my learning from Malaysian Political and Legal System subject, I have understand that constitution is a set of rules and regulations that being compiled together in a sheet for being used by the highest leader to govern their state. Every country had their own constitution as for their country establishment fundamental and the constitution that being implied in each country in the world must be followed by their own people whether they like it or not and it is not applicable for the outsiders and foreigners, except for some related laws.
From the Malaysian prospect, Federal Constitution is the supreme law that provides the rules and regulations related to every matter, from the administration to the society itself. It also establishes the Federation as a constitutional monarchy having the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Head of State and provides for the establishment and the organisation of three main branches of the government, which are the legislative branch, the executive branch and the judicial branch.
Federal Constitution also defines the rights and responsibilities of the federal government, the member states of the federation and the citizens and their relations to each other. Every person is bound to follow the laws regulated in Federal Constitution, and any new law which is against its provisions is considered as void.
