Organization is usually done by the state and military, it is the planning of killing or torturing a mass innocent people. Khmer Rouge army forcibly evacuated Cambodians from cities and moved to countryside. Other methods in organization is the separation of children and adults, removing of families from their home and placing people into "classes". Pol Pot organized people based on their level in society and intellect. He once said,"If you have a disease of the old society, take a dose of Lenin as medication." (Pot 189). This is when Pol Pot was trying to bring back Cambodia to year zero and turn it to communism.
POLARIZATION
The next stage in genocide is polarization. Polarization is the silencing and driving apart of the targeted group and the broadcasting of incriminating propaganda on that particular group. In the Cambodian genocide, Khmer Rouge (a communist hate party) placed innocent people into labor camps. Anyone against this plan was also killed or put into them. "From 1975 to 1979, an estimated 17,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng." (Wikipedia). In polarization another most common element is the banning of victims travels and social interactions. …show more content…
You start to go after a certain group of people. You start to kill them and get rid of them. Within the cambodian genocide persecution is a lot because without it they would not be able to get rid of the people. They got rid of anyone they did not think that would fit in the new society or anyone they thought would be to smart. They needed a perfect plan if they were going to pull the extermination. needed people to hate the cambodians and their ways so much that they thought that it would be better if they were just dead and gone. Needed the people to want the people gone and so much that they want to kill them by themselves. Pol Pot put the Cambodian people in detention center or in labor camps wear. “ S-21 is the most notorious detention center during this time.”
