The Career Of Ansel Adams Photography

Ansel Adams was one of the most important photographers in history. Adams helped invent what is called the Zone System with Fred Archer. The Zone System makes t quite a bit easier to accurately choose exposures. Adams’ photography exemplifies brilliant depth of field, clarity, attention to composition, and there is also a great balance of shadows, mid-tones, and highlights in his photographs. Adams began studying the piano at age twelve. When it became apparent that Adams was very gifted at the piano, he became the student of Marie Butler. Butler was a perfectionist and would make Adams repeat and practice an exercise until he did the exercise correctly. Its been said that this strive for perfection and acute attention to detail later transferred into his photography. Adams studied the piano for twelve years and thought that he was going to be a professional musician, but in the end, he had to choose either photography or music as a career.
