The Cask Of Amontillado
“ The cask of Amontillado” was written by Edgar Allan Poe. In this short story, the main characters are Fortunato and Montressor. Fortunato is a man that loves to drink wine and had offended Montressor many times. Montressor thinks he needs to take revenge into his own hands and comes up with an evil plan. The setting takes place long ago in the catacombs of Rome. The plot happens when Montressor sees that Forunato is very drunk. Montessor tells Forunato that he knows where a large pipe of Amontillado is. Montressor leads Fortunato down to the catacombs underneath his home after taking precautions to make sure no one sees him. Montressor begins to lead Forunato into the very back of the catacombs.
