The Cause Of Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy, was the second costliest hurricane in the United States history, since 1900. It was also the most deadly storm of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season. Sandy was a category 3 hurricane. It swept through the Bahamas, Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Eastern Canada, and Eastern U.S.(about 24 states were affected somehow), causing $61 billion in damage in the U.S. alone. In total, 285 lives were lost, 117 in the United States. The cause of hurricane Sandy, was the collision of a powerful hurricane, a trough of low pressure dipping from the Arctic, and a high pressure system. These 3 aspects, made the hurricane so much more deadly and powerful. Hurricane Sandy affected about 8 million, when it caused the power outage.
