For some, night terrors control their lives. The five to thirty minutes of terror (Iannelli) once or twice a month (Jones) usually disappear by the age of 12, once the nervous system has matured (What are Night Terrors?). When he hit the ground, he awoke on the floor next to his bed and realized it was only a dream(INSERT CITATION).” Like Jeff, Scott might now develop an anxious feeling whenever he's around his friends in fear that he might be shot if he turns around. This could greatly affect his social life because instead of having fun with his friends he’s worrying about people that don’t even exist coming to hurt him.

Although some may say other sleep disorders affect individuals close to the victim, it is clear that night terrors surpass all with how they affect relationships. It is no wonder many victims of this sleep parasomnia search for a cure because of the embarrassment to themselves and the direct effects on other
