When I was a young child, my family would go to Silvershells beach in Destin, Florida for a week each summer. I remember that once you had to endure the ten hour drive down there, the paradise that was waiting always made it worth it. I suppose that Destin’s trademark was the smell of Banana Boat suntan lotion that lingered in the lobby of the condo. This is the most heavily air-conditioned room without a doubt. The Victorian-style architecture pillars fell in the middle of the room.…

It's elaborate, a cheerful red and white Georgian Colonial mansion overlooking the bay. There is a lawn started at the beach and ran toward the front door for a quarter of a mile, jumping over sun-dials and brick walks and burning gardens. The front was broken by a line of French windows, glowing with reflected gold, and wide open to the warm windy afternoon.…

There is no place like mi casa. After a long day of school or a tiring session of work, the one place I can surely count on is home. Deep in the outskirts of Miami Gardens, this relaxing getaway destination awaits. While not the fanciest nor extravagant, my house is a convenient three bedroom apartment in the residency of Walden Pond. The building is beige with firebrick red stairs and a faded grey roof. The stairs are firm, and have rust stains due to weathering. Walking into the apartment, the aroma of Glade air freshener greets you before the people do. The walls are an orange-brown color, and immediately upon entry there are plaques and awards for my siblings showing their accomplishments in school. A glass table with flowery boutique sits…

The roof rafters are exposed, and the wood colors are raw and unmellowed.…

The décor of the home was exquisitely decorated in the time period of the house (Campbell). When we finished our self-guided tour we walked out to stand on the verandah and admire the view. It was dark outside and nobody was in the home so we decided to spend the night here. We found two beds and quickly fell asleep.…

When I get to this Island, I can observe the golden-white sand that makes this place to shine. Also, this large palm trees with their big branches that almost reach the ground and this beautiful colorful background with all kind of vegetation and colorful flowers along with some beautiful birds flying from one side to another showing off their attractive plumage and filling the place with their chirp. Some birds are loud and others just sweet to the ear. Some of them can fly so high that I can barely see them; they just disappear in the amazingly azure sky above me, the sky without a single cloud and with a radiant sun that warms and illuminates the beauty of this place. I can smell the intense scent of the sea that runs through my nose and get all the way to my heart making me feel relax and peaceful.…
