The Christmas Hunt By Borden Deal Analysis
In the story The Christmas Hunt by Borden Deal, I think the theme is to trust you peers. In the beginning of the story, the main character Tom wants to go hunting on the Christmas Day Hunt. His dad won't let him because of his age, so while Tom's dad is gone hunting Tom comes up with a plan. Tom goes hunting by himself and accidently shoots his best hunting dog. The problem is solved when Tom takes ownership for what he has done and decides that he doesn't deserve to get a bike for Christmas even though he really wanted one. I think the theme is to trust your peers because Tom's dad told him he should wait to go hunting until he's older, but when Tom went against his rules something went wrong. After Tom's dad told him that in a few years he
was going to be able to hunt, he got a hunting puppy for Christmas. Then a few years later, he could hunt at the Christmas Day Hunt with his father. So in the story The Christmas Hunt by Borden Deal, I think the theme is to trust your peers.
