The Color Red In Macbeth
I used three colors to represent the character Macbeth. The colors I used to represent the character Macbeth were blue, black, and red. Every color is associated with a certain feeling or emotion and these three colors fit Macbeth very well.

The color black is most commonly associated with mystery, death, and atrocity. Throughout the novel it is seen that Macbeth committed many malicious acts to satisfy his ambition to becoming King and keeping that position. According to a quote from Act 4 Scene 1, “The castle of Macduff I will surprise, Seize upon Fife, give to th' edge o' th' sword. His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls” This shows how evil Macbeth can be since he is saying how he will kill Macduff’s whole family or anyone who

    To commence this, the first scene to be examined is Act one, scene four lines 50-51. Here, Shakespeare intentionally presents Macbeth for his true colours. His objective of becoming king is exposed to the audience when Macbeth remarks ‘stars hide you fires, let not light see my black and deep desires’. This personification implies evil; there are numerous reasons behind this, the prime being that there is an evident contradiction between Macbeth and another key character who simultaneously presents good in the play. When King Duncan rejoices Malcolm becoming king, he hails ‘signs of nobleness like stars shall shine’. The opposing ideas of stars between the two display the differing characteristics. On one hand, Duncan wants the stars to shine brightly, much like the ‘nobleness’ of his subjects. Furthermore, this also implies a religious significance as light is associated with God and all things holy. Duncan is described to be chosen by God this is because it was a popular belief in the Elizabethan era that Kings were given the divine right. Duncan represents good in the play, to support this further, when King Duncan suddenly dies, it is said that ‘angels are bright still though the brightest one fell’. This is significant as it not only implies that Duncan is as pure and virtuous as an angel, it also foreshadows that the good is slowly diminishing and that evil spirits are beginning to dominate.…

    This shows how brave Macbeth was, but it also shows how ruthless Macbeth can be. Once, Macbeth learns that he will be king in the future, he kills Duncan to become king, and anyone else that would get in his way. This is shown when, after Macbeth has killed Duncan and Banquo, he finds out he also needs to kill Macduff to keep the crown. Macbeth says, “Then live, Macduff; what need I fear of the thee? / But yet I’ll make assurance double sure, / And take a bond of fate. Thou Shalt not live;/ That I may tell pale-hearted fear it lies, / And sleep in spite of thunder” (Shakespeare 4:1 80-85). This shows that in beginning readers see Macbeth as this warrior for Scotland, but by the end, he is making sure that anyone in Scotland who may be a threat is killed.     After the murder of King Duncan we immediately see the guilt eat away at Macbeth. ““What hands are here! Ha! they pluck out mine eyes” (act 2 scene 2 line 24). Macbeth says that the sight of the blood, the very thought of murder, is so awful it metaphorically rips his eyes out, indicating the enormity of quilt Macbeth is experiencing. After the murder of his friend Banquo that he staged, he states in a conversation with his wife “But let the frame of things disjoint, both the worlds suffer,Ere we will eat our meal in fear, and sleep In the affliction of these terrible dreams That shake us nightly. Better be with the dead, Whom we, to gain our peace, have sent to peace, Than on the torture of the mind to lie In restless ecstasy” (act 3 scene 2 lines 18-25). The guilt evades them both of their sleep and sanity, and the imaginary blood sticks to them as a reminder of their ever pervading existence. Blood helps trace the emotions of the characters because we see Macbeth go from guilt to dry acceptance of his actions. He is aware that after all these crimes he is not able to turn back no matter how hard he tries. Blood is also keen in representing the paradoxical effect between the beginning of Macbeth and the tragic conclusion. In the beginning Macbeth spills the blood of macdownwald bringing peace to Scotland, and at the end of the story Macduff the son of King Duncan slays Macbeth bringing the restoration of peace back to Scotland once and for all.…

    A significant event in this story was when Macbeth murdered Duncan. This struck uneasiness throughout Scotland and some people feared for their lives. Malcolm and Donalbain especially were afraid because they believed; “There’s daggers in men’s smiles.” (Act II sc (iv), ln 165) Banquo’s murder is a fearful moment as well. Macbeth orders murderers to kill Banquo by saying; “Who wear our health but sickly in his life,/ Which in his death were perfect.” (Act III sc (i) lns 119-120) Macbeth is the cause of his innocent friend’s death and he does it purely for his own benefit and personal gain.
