The compromise of 1877 was a few promises that were made by the Republics to the Democrats. Among these promises were to remove military from South, Appoint a Democrat to cabinet , and Federal money for railroad construction and levees on Mississippi river. But the promise that affected the Environment and Geography was the promise for federal money for construction of a railroad and levees on the Mississippi river. That promise would require a lot of steel which would contribute to the Industrial Revolution which was hurting the environment in a negative way.

This war involved the allies and the axis. Many new technologies were introduced for example tanks, airplanes, and toxic gas. All of these things that were being produced required natural resources and the demand for these resources went up because of the war. After the war production started to go down and the demand for natural resources started to decline. And this brought the great deppres and with the great depression that started the new deal programs, and money was put together to try to start building dams and infrastructure that would impact nature in many ways, programs were put so farming could be improved and that there could be a more efficient and less environmental impact on nature.

The AAA was an important new deal program for environment because it would try to introduce better farming methods so the soil would erode, the TVA that build series of dams to prevent flooding and sell electricity so that meant less floods and clean electricity so some areas did not have to use coal as a way to get electricity. Also the PWA included clean electricity dams. When WW2 started the great depression ended because there was a ramp up of industry in the U.S. the New Deal Programs were no longer needed and this was caused because the start of WW2.
