The Conflict Between The Boy And Sheila Mant
As I read this short story, I realized that the boy and I both have something to regret. First I will tell you about the boy's regret. The boy was obsessed with a girl, but he was too scared to ask her out. He got to the point of liking her to where he knew her tanning schedule and what she did almost every day. The boy would even do endless circles of laps around her to try and impress her, but she didn’t notice him. Then, after a couple of days, he got the courage to ask her out. The day finally came for him to ask her out and the whole family was outside playing softball. The boy asked Sheila Mant out and she said yes the next day he was outside cleaning the canoe. When the boy and Sheila Mant were on the canoe, she said that she didn’t like fishing and that she thought it was lame and boring. …show more content…
He enjoyed it so much, to the point where that’s all he did every day. When the boy and Sheila Mant were on the boat he noticed that he had a line from the fishing rod out on the lake, When he felt the line on the rod go down he noticed that the gills were bigger than any fish he had ever caught. The boy didn't want the girl to know because she said that fishing was lame, and the boy didn’t want the girl to think that he was lame. The boy was paddling as fast as he could because he didn’t want to lose the bass. The boy wasn’t paying attention to Sheila and had his full attention on the bass. He noticed that he fully zoned her out and finally let go of the bass to pay attention because he didn’t want to lose her. The night was over and the band
