The Conjuring Analysis
The Conjuring by James Wan is a horror movie that is indescribably amazing. It is both friendly but yet satisfyingly freaky. The Conjuring is fantastic with the help of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga playing the roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren. The director and actors did a great job on this movie. The director made it as scary as possible, but yet sticking to the true story of what really happened to Ed and Lorraine Warren. The actors bringing out their characters better than anyone else could, which made it as if you were really there seeing it for yourself. This movie takes place in this old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere during the 1970's. A family moves into this old farmhouse with a husband and wife and their five daughters. They are happy, but yet skeptical of this creepy old house. With no money they have no where else to go so they stay. As time continues throughout the movie, freaky and unexplained events take place scaring the family and kids. Luckily they find Ed and Lorraine. The special effects of this movie are phenomenal. They added effects that blow your mind such as floating objects, flying objects, ghostly apparitions, and more. These effects are better than most and I myself can say from experience with other movies. The Conjuring brings a whole other game and scare factor with these …show more content…

The movie takes place in two main locations, the little town of Rock Ridge and the capital where the governor resides. There is a railroad that is being built but it ran into an area of quicksand and now needs a new route. That new route that the railroad needs to take is right through the little all-white frontier town of Rock Ridge. Rock Ridge is full of simple townsfolk who all have the last name of Johnson, which exemplifies the homogeneity of the town. It shows the townsfolk in church and they are discussing the troubles that have been happening in the town, to which they decide they need to wire the governor for a new one since the last one they had was murdered.…

Alfred Hitchcock is known as a master of the cinematic arts for his preeminent style when designing a setting. The movie depicts a small town, known as Bodega Bay, near the beach in the early 1960s. This town is a peaceful town where nothing disastrous ever happens, and when it does, the inhabitants do not know how to react. The city is somewhat isolated from society and is not well known, causing the credibility of its citizens to be called into question. The main character, Melanie Daniels, calls her father, the owner of a famous newspaper, and tells him that there is a massive attack on the people of the town and it was all orchestrated by birds. Her father thinks that the idea of…

    Carrie Movie Analysis

Carrie’s role makes the people wonder where is Carries other family or child services when needed. Moretz said to act in the movie just as the Carrie in Stephen King’s book does. Margaret (Julianna Moore) she plays the crazy mother, whom never wanted a child punishes Carrie in every way she can for imagined sins. The characters in Carrie are good but Carrie seems to take away some of the good pieces wrote in Stephen King’s book. The movie has good scenes and sound effects but it seem as something is missing from the original version. Casting for Carrie is great and the actors do not let their audience down, however it seems as if you just can’t get into the movie if you have read Stephen King’s book. This version of Carrie was not scary at all and did not live up to the horror like Stephen King wrote. As one keeps watching Carrie it gets uninteresting even though it’s good how it depicts on teen bullying that’s happening today. The movie has a great aspect for teens who can relate to being bullied and does not have any home family support, which makes them lash…

    The Boy Film Analysis

It had all the elements of a classic horror story. The babysitter alone in a big creepy house without any neighbors or communication from the outside world and then you've got this supposedly inanimate object which begs the question is she really alone in the house? The first half of the movie is a little slow as we follow-up on how crazy the Heelshire's are and get the back story of Braums as well as Greta as we try to figure out what she's running from. The movie doesn't pick up until Greta realizes that Braums is moving about on his own...but even then it doesn't really go where we think it's going to go. First comes panic, then fear, then fascination...then things really get weird when Greta's ex boyfriend Cole; Ben Robson (Dracula: The Dark Prince) makes his way into the picture. There are no jump factors here, the only scene that really gives you a scare is when Greta is staring at Braums in the family portrait and it suddenly comes to life but that's something you can see just from watching the trailer. There is a crazy twist at the end that was actually kind of disappointing for me and raised more questions than answers. The camera work at the end was confusing there was a chase scene but with the sudden different angles poor lighting it's hard to tell who was chasing…

The two families were brought up in a lower class part of Los Angeles. The area is a low income neighborhood with the homes in need of much repair. In the movie there is un-cut grass and un-raked leaves cumbering the ground. The paint on the walls is chipped and dull. The movie shows Tre at a young age sent to his father Furious. Tre and the Bakers children, Doughboy and Ricky become good friends throughout their teen years. It is interesting that these kids would get into so much trouble by just trying to find things to keep them occupied. In one scene of the movie, Ricky took a football as they were walking around town. A group of teenagers eyed the ball and desired to take it. With a little contention they stole the ball. After a small conflict, they got the ball back.…

The movie is filmed in the present, which would have been 1990-ish, where we meet Evelyn Couch who is visiting a nursing home with her husband, Ed. She meets a lonely old woman Cleo Threadgoode, whom everyone calls Ninny, and they begin talking. Ninny shares a story with Evelyn about Idgie Threadgoode and Ruth Jamison, taking place in the 1920’s and the 1930’s. We see dual storylines here. The first in the present with Evelyn and Ninny and then the story of Idgie and Ruth in the past, both of them being told chronologically but at different periods of time. In the first, or establishing shot, we hear a train whistle and the camera pans over a ghost town and eventually stopping at a run-down building that says The Whistle Stop Café.…

The director M. Night Shyamalan uses different methods to make the film, “The Sixth Sense”. He uses symbolism and motif to help you understand the movie and see that it is more than what you first see. In “The Sixth Sense” a boy named Cole Sear is a boy that seems to have a problem. He sees things that other people can’t see. He can see ghosts, walking with people as if living like nothing ever happened. A Doctor named Dr. Malcolm Crowe tries to help Cole with his problem until he realizes that Cole is similar to Vincent Grey who was a boy that had the exact same problems.…
