They might be on different levels of seriousness but a crime is a crime. Some coaches don’t understand how much respect they have from their students, but it can easily be lost in a quick second! It just doesn’t work that way; plus parents are the worst grudge-holders known to the universe! Mistreat their children in anyway and you lose all trust from them immediately! Believe it or not but parents have a major factor in deciding where their children will go to school for college! In a video on ESPN this sports anchor was talking about Mike Rice’s actions and he said, “What parent would let this animal back into their house to recruit their son?” (News) That’s the absolute truth, If they don’t trust the program behind past altercations; you can highly believe their child won’t be enrolling in that college! What it all boils down to is one word : Trust! “Trust is the key to a successful partnership” (Buchanan), and if you can’t trust your own coaches… Well who can you trust then?
