Throughout time men have always endeavored to figure out how the world and humans came to be. The Greeks were no exception and had a very fascinating perspective on the origin of the universe. With war, tragedy, and dysfunctional all-powerful families, the Greek story has it all. Starting with the origin of the universe itself, to the creation of man and sin, the Greek's story is one of the best. From the beginning of existence, there was Chaos, a black void of nothing that took up all the space in the cosmos. He was the first primordial being and all there was in creation until one day, boring of himself, he moved, and in the space he left behind the universe appeared from nothing. Her many children came from various fathers throughout time. Her first child, Ouranos, became the sky and did not have a father. From her own being she brought forth Pontos, the deep sea, and Ourea, the mountains. This created the Earth in the form we know today. Her next child Typhon, was the product of Gaia and Tatarus. Typhon was a storm-giant that became one of the Gods most dangerous enemies. Most of Gaia's children came from Ouranos and her. Their first child Echidna, was the mother of all monsters. Echidna found a nice cave to live in and mated with Typhon to sire the monsters of the world. Gaia and Ouranos' next three children, the hetachonchires, were known as the hundred-handed ones. Ouranos thought they were horrible and once they were born, threw them into Tartarus. Ouranos did the same to their next children, the first three cyclopes.
