Arthur Miller’s, “The Crucible”, similarly shows how our fear can manipulate a society’s morals and values. Furthermore the play is based around an unusual event that occurs in this strict Puritan community and their society consequently states how the devil is responsible. In which the prosecutor, Judge Danforth simply turns a blind eye and continues to condemn the criminals. Dangerously, our attitudes towards the innocent parents convicted are becoming filled with the same conformity and fear, with the need to blame someone for our actions. This exaggerated ideology of ‘protecting the innocence’, continues to blind us to the real justice, that is not persuaded by emotion that is influenced by our worldview or the media.
