The Crucifixion Story of Christ
The crucifixion of Christ is probably is what makes him so man like n one of a kind he was one of flesh and blood a man of thoughts and understanding he had followers he wouldn't lead you to a door he wouldn't enter he was esteemed to be great from the beginning But he felt he earned his weight just like the next man he died like a man remembered like jesus our lord and savior he did something others can't and will not do he have his life for others he didn't want a reward or anything he just wanted us all to have a chance. Christians often blame the Jews for his death. But this blame should probably be limited to the Jewish religious leaders, who had managed to keep some of their power by cooperating with the Romans. These leaders saw the crowds that gathered around Jesus, and they knew that many people were calling him the Messiah. Mark 11:18 says "they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching." But their ultimate fear probably went deeper, because if growing numbers of people believed that Jesus was the Messiah, he could eventually become a serious threat to their authority.

The crucifixion story of Christ is the most galvanizing text in the Bible that resonates with Christians and reveals his strength as a symbol of Christianity. His sacrifice of his life for our salvation spoke volumes on his belief in man. He did not hold himself in higher regard than the next man and unlike many politicians and leaders, sought to enrich and better the lives of those around him rather than his standing for personal gain and glory. One of the tenets of the Christianity ideology is to help your fellow man and spread the disciple and teachings of the Lord. Christians intrinsically look to aid others and better their well being and Jesus’s crucifixion and sacrifice is the beacon of this belief. He gave his life to better ours the ultimate gift for mankind. Christians often blame Jews for his demise and while this is true, this condemnation should be more focused on the leaders and politicians at this time. Their fear was of his power and what he could potentially become if he was not killed. Mark 11:18 states “They feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching”. His looming power was the ultimate threat to their authority and threatened their society.

It was especially hard for the Jews to fit in to a Christian society. Jews do not share the Christian belief that Jesus is the Son of God. Because of this belief they were viewed as outcasts in most Christian societies. Most Christians taught that the Jews were responsible for the death of Christ. However, we know now that Jesus was executed by the Roman government. The Romans viewed Jesus as a political thread to their rule.…

On May 8th, 1373, an anchoress named Julian of Norwich asked God for a sickness that would bring her close to death in order to gain a “more trew minde” of Christ’s crucifixion (Julian of Norwich 53). Through bodily visions of the Passion, Julian yearns to gain a better understanding of Christ’s “bodily peynes” and thus to “suffer with Him” (48-49, 50). In these visions, Julian witnesses several grotesque events during Christ’s crucifixion: the crown of thorns piercing Christ’s skin and causing him to bleed, the copious outpouring of Christ’s blood, and the bleeding, gaping wound on his side. While each of these scenes focus on the movement of blood out of Christ’s body, they also pay particular attention to the openings through which the blood…

The most well-known account of the historical practice of Roman crucifixion can be found in the Gospels of the Bible in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. However, three out of the four gospels that detail the life and death of Christ possess one conspicuous problem, the synoptic problem. The synoptic problem is specifically found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. It does not include the Gospel of John since this Gospel on its own contains a majority of material that is unique to the book. The issue in the other Gospels is that there are parts of the narrative of the life of Christ and other events that can be found in one Gospel, but are completely absent from the other two Gospels. There are also events that can be found in all three…

The death of Jesus forms the idea of liberation for his people. Christians understand the idea of "Christ's death and resurrection setting man free from his bondage to sin and death" (McGrath 120). Jesus saved his people by sparing himself, and the cross represents this courageous act that he partook in. For the Christian people, the cross has a significant identity: It is the symbol of Christ bringing about the idea of life rather than death, love rather than hatred and joy rather than sorrow. People look to the cross as a figure in which they can always rely on, and which will help them through the most difficult of times. It is something that is, and will always be there for people, just as Jesus was there for them when they needed him most.…
