Passing a law forbidding the use of cell phones while driving is a good idea because it will prevent many distracted drivers from causing major accidents on the road. Any police officers in speed traps should also be looking for anyone on their phones while driving, and there should be a separate and greater fine for being on your phone while driving, because it can not only cause a driver to speed, but it can also cause many other incidents that risk the lives of those on the road. Because it can be extremely dangerous to use a cell phone while driving, it would be a good idea to pass a law making it illegal to drive while operating a cell phone. It is good that states are starting to make it illegal; however, that is not quite enough. It should be illegal on a nationwide level.
