The Darker Side of the American Dream Have you ever experienced what it is like to not be able to afford the things you needed in life? Imagine what it would be like to have to run your car on bald tires, not be able to put new shoes on your children’s feet, or not being able to afford enough food for you and your kids both to eat dinner. I think the definition of the American dream is being able to buy the things you need and want comfortably without having to worry about going into debt. The American dream cannot be achieved by everyone, because many people can’t do what they want to do because of medical reasons and also that there are not enough good paying jobs to support their wants and needs. One major reason people can’t achieve their own dream is because prior medical experiences they have had or are currently going through.
