Profits from low-cost plans are barely keeping them afloat in an industry where evolving technology is vital for sustainability. Smart-phones continue to be the current and future cash crop of the cell phone industry. The best companies like AT&T, and Verizon offer reliable 4G network technologies, along with multimedia phones, that allow expeditious travel of data. Conversely, T-Mobile and Metro PCS are still operating on older network protocols and selling a lineup of smart-phones that are very lackluster when compared to the competitions iPhone, and Android.…

AT&T has been a growing company for more than a century. Their mission is to connect people with their world; everywhere they live and work, and do it better than anyone else (AT&T website). Careful analysis of the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats will provide a forecast of the likeliness of the company living up to their mission. Looking at the organizations past and current performance it would be difficult to say if the company can and will live up to such an ambitious mission and whether investing in this company is a sound decision.…

Hello Mariah, Great post this week describing low-cost provider strategy, broad differentiation strategy and focused low-cost strategy. I enjoyed reading your discussion comparing Verizon and AT&T services. I remember about 10 years ago or maybe longer when AT&T came out with U-verse service and I absolutely loved the feature of watching your recorded shows on any TV. I have Verizon service through my work and they do have the good coverage nationwide compared to Sprint. My wife has Sprint and many areas including in the Kitchen she gets drop calls or no signals and she will use my phone for texting/phone calls. There is one thing I like about Sprint is unlimited data plan at a reasonable price with no hidden fees. I agree with you that…

During the time since the iphone was release back in June 2007, there have been many legal issues that have presented themselves. Most of these legal issues started when people started noticing that the iphone was able to be jail broken. This means that they can download free software and use it to unlock and phone that he or she wishes to. Many problems started occurring because this caused a birch of contract with the service provider AT&T. With all that being said AT&T has decided to interfere in the iphone unlocking trend that has come to a rather large proportion over the last period. Uniquephones has been one of the first websites that has offered people the option of jail breaking a phone and AT&T wasn’t so happy about that. They were informed that they would be receiving a call my AT&T’s lawyers.…

There are many diseases that plague this world, some physical and some metaphorical. Metaphorical diseases, like war and poverty, can easily be remedied, but physical diseases, like Ebola and the Zika Virus, require much more effort to rehabilitate. However, one in particular has risen above all others throughout history, the most devastating and persistent illness of all: cancer. Millions of people die from different forms of cancer every year, and the bodycount is only increasing. The way to rehabilitate the majority of the public who suffer from cancer is to create an organization, one of astronomical proportions, comprised of almost every cancer research scientist in the world. With the number of cancer patients exponentially increasing…

The key players in the wireless industry are Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. With these four companies controlling 90% of the market, there are no other ‘key players’ in the industry. U.S. Cellular is not quite a ‘key player’, however they do hold approximately 2.4% of the customer nationwide and must be in the overall picture. In addition, the data suggests that the pool of potential people that would get a cell phone is almost entirely saturated so it does not look as if there is any room for additional competition.…
