The Death Of Julius Caesar
The death of one can save the lives of thousands. Caesar’s death was a small price to pay for the transformation of Rome. Caesar was too ambitious and powerful to be the ruler of Rome. Power can be admirable when used for good but Caesar was unjust with his dealings of power. He abused the authority he held in his position. He was being treated like a god when in reality he was just a man. On some occasions he empowered Rome in many ways. He brought in wealth from several foreign countries. He was a kind and generous man, unfortunately only when it was convenient for himself. He has many noble and virtuous qualities. But although Caesar helped Rome rise to power he only did this for himself. All he cared about was the future of his household

Caesar took advantage of his popularity among the plebeians of Rome to declare himself the Dictator for Life. His rise causes tension between him and fellow Senators because his power completes that of the Senate. The senators are afraid that their role in the government is becoming obsolete. Brutus says in his speech defending the decision to kill Caesar, “Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves,/ than that Caesar were dead, to live all free men?” (Shakespeare Caesar, III.ii. 23-24) The conspirators reason that as Caesar gaines power, they would lose theirs. His assassination is not a selfless act but Brutus argues that it benefits everyone that he is dead. Whether or not it truly helps everyone or just the Senators is questionable. Mark Antony, though, takes a different approach.…

I decided that I should write to you about the events of yesterday, which I believe you have heard by now. Though if you haven’t, yesterday Caesar was killed in an attack orchestrated by Brutus and Cassius. When I heard, I have to admit that I was shocked that Caesar was dead and that Rome would lose the best leader we’ve had. In my opinion, Caesar was a great dictator, who was just trying to help the Roman Empire expand and was trying to make Rome better, so I believe that it’s good that he was killed.…

Julius Caesar in the play "The tragedy of Julius Caesar" was a in line to be the next ruler of Ancient Rome. Caesar becomes drunk in power as most people would when there are roughly a million people adoring you. The people of Ancient Rome truly liked Caesar, in fact in Act 1 Scene 1, a commoner says "..we are taking holiday for Caesar's arrival.." In this act the reader gets a sense on how much the people like Caesar. However it is also shown to the reader how much noblemen do not like or trust Caesar to be a good leader. Throughout Act 1 and 2 Cassius is trying to convince Brutus, one of Caesar's good friends, to help them murder Caesar so he could take the crown. Brutus and his followers believe they are doing a service to the people. That in some way sacrificing Caesar is for the better good. However this being said Caesar's death was not a sacrifice it was a butchery, there is no need to go out and kill someone.…

In all actuality Shakespeare portrayed Julius Ceasar very closely in his play to what it really was in real life with only a few slight differences and also in the play the stroy is shortened down quite a bit from what really happens after Ceasar is assassinated. For example in the play Caesar is portrayed as a noble hero that is struck down by his "allies" without much of a reason. In reality Caesar was power hungry, cruel, devious, ruthless, and extremely ambitious which may have been why he was one of histories greatest military generals. Although in both the play and real life the citizens loved Caesar because he was a strong and powerful leader. In all honesty, his assassins had very good reason to fear him being their emperor.…

Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC for many reasons. Many people, especially his opponents had feared his power and dominion in Rome, he declared himself as Dictator for life, this made him a king in all but name. “ Why, he cuts off twenty years of life/ cuts off so many years of fearing death “ (III. i. 101-102). A happy death is by dying peacefully and in an area where you desired the most in the past and while growing up. Caesar’s death is unhappy because he did not live too long to share his moments to his future children but Caesar was killed by his best of friends on the ides of March in which his wife and soothsayer gave him a warning that something bad was going to happen. Caesar did many things to earn the support of the roman citizens and to gain popularity with them. He built circuses to entertain the people, granted citizenship, and helped the unemployed. Caesar did this so Roman citizens can like him more and in return will make him have more power. Many of Caesar’s enemies became jealous of him and his enemies must achieve the first step to murder him. “ Caesar, thou canst not die by traitors hands, unless thou bring’st them with thee “ ( V. i. 56-57). Said by: Brutus. The main conspirators that murdered Caesar were Cassius, Casca and Brutus. The relation in between the main…

A powerful leader being assassinated is not new in the history of the world. Some have been powerful and some have not. President John F. Kennedy is maybe the most famous in the history of the United States, except maybe President Abraham Lincoln. The murder of Julius Caesar is one of the most famous and popular too. The debate is whether he should have been assassinated or not, depending on what you think he was doing within the empire. It is true that Julius Caesar was changing the republic into an empire, but is that reason enough to kill the leader of that change? I don't think he should have been assassinated.…
