Norway restricted its hunting to the minke whales only, that has the “Least Concern” label on the Red List of Threatened Species, and the number of specimens taken every year is almost twice below the given quota. In fact, whaling currently is on the decline in Norway due to the various effects of globalization, and it doesn’t hold a lot of macroeconomic significance.
