Young goodman brown is being tested about his faith he is out in the wood a dark and gloomy place, he is trying to find his way out but the devil just keeps drawing him closer and closer as he goes in farther he gets the feeling that “the devil himself is at his very elbow” (paragraph 9 pg 1).
