The Difference Between Martin Luther King Jr And Malcolm X
I do not agree with the statement “Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X had similar philosophies but used different methods to campaign for civil rights.” Due to his past of poverty, Malcolm X focused on improving the rights and living conditions for the black ghettos. Malcolm X did fight for the human rights for the blacks. He also believed the whites were the blacks’ enemies and wanted separatism. On the other hand, Martin Luther King Jr. focused on ending the segregation in the South; this was due to the mistreatment in the past. They do follow different faiths and used different methods to campaign for civil rights. Malcolm X was a part of the Nation of Islam for a bit of time opposed to Martin Luther King being a Baptist.
