The Inca Empire was divided up into four quarters. Every quarter was ruled by a governor called an Apu. The Sapa Inca had a council of men who advised him on primary matters. These men were powerful and strong nobles. Their houses had no windows and no exits besides the front door. Huts didn’t have furniture. People slept on animal skins and mats.Instead of furniture they had niches in the walls this is where they sat.
Craftsmen were given homes in the city, near the noble plaza. Their homes weren’t of the best quality but they were superior to the farmers huts. Most craftsmen had a window or two and they had two story huts. Craftsmen were provided with all of the necessities, food, water, and materials needed to make crafts. The Inca were brilliant. They shaped hut weirdly with slanted doors and funny roof to strengthen their homes. The Sapa Inca lived in chateau.The walls were covered with gold and silver. There were gorgeous paintings.
Pottery was covered with silver and gold. There wasn’t even furniture in the palace. After the Sapa Inca perished his body was mummified in hid his palace and he was to remain there forever and his royal family stayed there even after he died. The royal family continued to go about their daily life. The Inca constructed a new castle for the next Sapa Inca and his family. Each city had many palaces but only one was home to a living Sapa
