The Dragon Who Does Not Breath Fire
The Dragon Who Does Not Breath Fire

Hi, my name is Oleg, Oleg the dragon. See what I did there, I was like James Bond for a second. Anyway I’m Oleg and I live in the Dragon Caves (I came up with the name, pretty cool isn’t it). I live there with my friends Samuel and Jake. Samuel is an orange dragon with blue eyes. He’s a bit small but he makes up for it with speed and strength. Jake is very tall and
I used to be a bit scared of him but it’s
OK now. We usually go out destroying castles and if we have success we go to McDonalds. I go over there to eat when I don’t feel like eating humans. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you I don’t breathe fire. I know that may seem as a big deal but it’s not. It all happened when I was destroying a castle and a boy surprisingly threw water in my mouth. I

was like that won’t do anything but then when I tried to breathe fire I couldn’t. I went back home and sought medical advice. The doctor said there was nothing he could do (I think it was because he was human, all humans are stupid). I got angry and killed him, it wasn’t my fault I tried the anger management classes but they didn’t work. I realised I rarely use my fire anyway so I’ll still be the best dragon ever. Anyway when I got back home I told my friends and they laughed but you know it wasn’t funny. I asked them what I should do about it. Samuel said I should go to the wizard that lived in that castle, but I said no because he doesn’t like me. After that there were no more good ideas so I finally understood that I would never breathe fire again. But my

friends wouldn’t leave it at that. They went to the wizard’s house and asked him to help their friend. He was very angry because when Samuel and Jake knocked on the door the wizard was shaving, so he lost his concentration and cut himself. His face was covered in tissues. I was surprised that the wizard decided to help them. I bet you Samuel and Jake were too. The wizard did still complain though. He said “Can’t a wizard

Abolqasem Ferdowsi’s In the Dragon’s Claws: The Story of Rostam & Esfandiyar from the Persian Book of Kings, is a story that comes from the Shahnameh, a book containing many different narratives detailing Iranian history and mythology. The story In the Dragon’s Claws presents two heroes of Iran, Rostam and Esfandiyār, who are victims of fate. The story traces the power struggle between Rostam and Esfandiyār, as well as the power struggle between Esfandiyār and his father Goshtāsp, the Shah of Iran. While many themes are at work in this story, perhaps the most important theme observed is the intervention of fate and the role of the divine in the lives of the characters. The Iranians believed that “God prefers Iran to other nations and sustains…

In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the presence of fire has obvious significance. What is important to look at, however, is how it’s meaning evolves throughout the book. As Guy Montag’s views change on society and the world around him, so does the connotation of fire. First, the fire represents power, and the satisfaction that comes with it. Then, as Montag is exposed to more radical thinking, the meaning evolves into violence and destruction. By the end of the novel, the image of fire symbolizes hope, as he works with Faber, and the book people to restore society.…

Fahrenheit 451 emphasizes many symbols throughout the book, one of them being fire, and how it can be more than just destruction. The theme of fire is shown by representing the destruction of books, however to other characters it is seen as more than just fire. "Burning book pages are compared compared to birds flying away (Bradbury, 2)." Burning books means more than its destruction. It also means that the book's history is no longer coming back. Fire has a powerful role in Fahrenheit 451 and its destruction causing things to change for its citizens. "The fireman feels powerful when he causes things to change (Lenhoff, 1)." Not only is the destruction of books important, but it also causes a person to feel the amount of power fire can have…

The Chimera was a fire-breathing Greek monster that was believed to have the head and body of a lion, a goat head protruding from its back, and yet her tail was a snake. The Greek monster was the child of Typhoeus and Echidna and was known to reside in Lycia. Chimera was traditionally a female mythological character who was believed to have been the sibling of Cerberus; the three headed dog that guarded the entrance to the underworld. She was rumored to have given birth to multiple other greek monsters, such as the Sphinx and the Nemean Lion. This monster had a reputation for being associated with shipwrecks, storms, and other natural disasters. Unfortunately; or maybe fortunately for the greeks, the Chimera was killed by Bellerophon.…

In his book Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury writes about a dystopian society where fire significantly factors into the story. Bradbury does this by changing Montag’s perception of fire throughout the novel. In the beginning of the novel Montag’s understanding of fire is destructive. However, towards the end of the novel Montag’s understanding of fire begins to transition from taking into giving. In Fahrenheit 451, fire also captures both destruction and renewal when Granger talks about at the Phoenix being a major symbol for renewal and destruction at the end of the novel.…

The Buddhist Stele Commemorating Song Shixing (宋始兴) appears to be a thin stele decorated with the head of Chi, the hornless dragon. The top and body of the stele are in one piece yet the base is nowhere to be found. Six dragons are carved on the top of the stele façade, hovering with their head facing down and holding the body of the stele in their mouths. On the uppermost part of the stele, a niche with gable roofs and round arch is engraved, inside which sits the Maitreya Buddha wearing a crown with ribbons over shoulder. The columns of the niche respectively, in Regular script, incise the caption of the Pilgrim. The carvings on the stele body divide up into three levels. In the middle of the top level, a stupa with flower motif is carved,…

The main theme of this book is the quest of retaking their land from Smaug. It took teamwork and not giving up to succeed, and it took help from others along the way. They got locked up and had no ideas of how to free themselves, but Bilbo saved them. They could have all given up but they kept pushing. The song I choose was “Thorough The Fire And Flames” by Dragon Force. The song talks about keep pushing through and don’t give up, “through the fire and the flames we carry on”. This relates to the dwarves bravery and them not quitting. On page 175 it talks about the dwarves imprisoned “So it was that Bilbo was able to take secretly Thorin’s message to each of the other imprisoned dwarves, telling them that Thorin their chief was also in prison…
