Climate change increases the chance of worsening drought in many regions of California, and global warming will increase the risk of drought in some regions, particularly in the Southwest United States (Drought and Climate Change). Global warming defines as increasing global surface air temperatures show up in the climate record. The term global warming is usually attributed to human activities, such as increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (Ahrens, C). Drought in California has caused a lot of atmospheric conditions, and this natural condition, is very likely linked to human- caused climate change (Than, Ker). Even Extreme droughts tend to occur every century in our history, but human activities have impacted heavily on our environment. Drought links to the potential of human activities that increase the usage of greenhouse gasses that also increase the opportunities of extreme weather (Drought and Climate Change). Some people may believe that drought and other natural phenomenon happen because of natural effects, like lack of rainfall for drought. However, the rising of global temperature causes drought to worsen because it evaporates the moisture out of the …show more content…
Our water supply has decreased, and the quality of water also declines during the severe drought. Moreover, our agricultural industries have lost a lot of money because they do not have enough water to plant their plants, so there are thousands of farm workers that have lost their jobs; the California state also loses a lot of their tax revenue from agricultural industries. Furthermore, our environment becomes unstable, especially due to the loss of wetland, it impact wildlife to migrate from the dry and hot places to better places. Some of the environment impacts are permanent and some are temporary. Because California has encountered a serious loss by drought, our local and state government passed several bills to have water regulated, drought reduces surface water and groundwater so quickly, and it is very crucial for the government and all citizens to start to save our environment and water for our next
