Abstract
The purpose of this research study is to explore the impact of social networking sites to students. A questionnaire was designed in order to determine the factors of social networking sites that have impact on students. Variables identified are age, education, social influence and academic performance. Respondents are students that are randomly selected. According to our literature review, other studies concluded that students whose age 13-25 mostly use social networking websites for entertainment. From this research study it was also found that people use social networking websites due to social influence. By doing this study we will know the effects and impact of various social networking sites to a student’s academic proficiency.
