The Effects of Marijuana – Research Project
The effects of marijuana – Research project
I have chosen to do my research project on the effects of marijuana. Why I have chosen to do this particular topic is that among many people my age (youths) it is a very common occurrence for teens to be trying marijuana. I have come to a conclusion that for my ‘’final question’’ I will do a poster preaching to teenagers the negative effects marijuana has on the human body. Also I will state how you can lose close friends and family over wanting to get “high”. I think this research will change teenagers minds about trying marijuana due to the fact a teenager (myself) will be presenting the harm marijuana can do. I believe teenagers are more likely to listen when being preached to by someone their age.
What I hope to learn from my projects is the negative effects of marijuana and what sort of personal and social effect it has on someone. It will also prevent me from trying the drug in the future and I hope that my poster will make teenagers think twice before trying the drug. I understand that many teenagers are pressured into trying drugs such a marijuana by their friends that are addicted or have tried it before.
The communication skills that I will use in my project are writing on a poster, pictures on a poster and then offcourse my oral speech which I plan to give to the class preaching about the negative effects of marijuana. What I hope to accomplish with this is have self-understanding about the drug and also try to change what other teenager’s thing of the drug so if they ever are in the situation where they are offered or pushed into trying marijuana they will know how to decline it and will know the negative effects of it.
My main sources of information are going to be the internet, newspaper articles, books and interviews with people that have been smoking marijuana. Interviewing someone that is a marijuana user or addict will give me inside information about the drug and a user’s opinion on marijuana. This

If an issue of challenging behaviour occurs within the Home, staff should try techniques to calm the situation to prevent any further disruption and try to identify any triggers. These techniques may include music therapy, relaxation therapy, complementary therapies and multi-sensory environments. Staff should receive training on these areas and techniques so that if a situation does arise, they're equipped with information and confidence to handle the issues without any further implications arising. If these are successful, the Care Plan must be updated immediately and this information must be passed over to the senior in charge or the General Manager so that it can be passed on to other appropriate members of staff. This will then provide others with the right tools to prevent a situation or to help manage it if one does arise again. The Care plan must be reviewed and updated every time an incident occurs. Restraint can be used as a way to manage challenging behaviour however this should always be a last resort and only if the danger to the service user outweighs the effect of losing their freedom. If restraint is used too frequently or for inadequate reasoning, it can damage a person’s mental and physical well-being; subsequently causing them to become more dependant, can increase the risk of pressure sores, incontinence and loss of dignity. If restraint is going to be used as a last resort, the senior in charge or the General Manager must be informed and must be in charge of the situation at hand. There should be clear instructions of what’s going to happen, to the staff and the resident to avoid further distress and not provoke further action from the service user. The Care Plan must be updated and the family should be informed immediately so that they can be involved in the risk assessments put in place.…

    1. Marijuana is a very controversial topic. For a long time the issue of legalization has been debated. The media displays marijuana as a gate way drug relating it to other drugs and there harmful effects. There has been a lot of research on its health effects, which the media doesn’t portray. With all the negativity being said about marijuana from both the media and my family, I wanted to take my time and to research the benefits of marijuana. Just like alcohol I believe marijuana should have the same law and be recreational or used when the medical aspects are needed. But just like all favorable things they shouldn’t be abused.…

Legalizing of marijuana raises health concerns through the general public. However, the people who do not know the rise and the potency of marijuana, as well as, how it damages one’s body perceptually, which at the end will have drastic consequences. For instance, as Roni continues she mentions that teenagers who are addicted to the drug are the ones who are more at risk to have damage done to them in the frontal cortex. First, as they, the adolescences, use marijuana they essentially are “hooked” on the drug, without proper treatment they will stay on the cannabis as an addict. Moreover, when it comes to their mentality rate of the brain the function of it decreases tremendously on being able to comprehend the world around them than compared to any adult that uses the drug. Furthermore, as Roni continues on with the harm marijuana does to adolescences she points out that if legalization of the drug took place then the teenagers would have an easier way to get access to the potent cannabis. Likewise, for the people don’t see marijuana as a threat-Roni assures them that introducing it to underage teenagers would be an immoral notion and it would be better for everyone to inform adolescences when they become adults. Although people hardly care for the legalization of marijuana they are not aware of the harm it does to the teenagers as well as the adults who consume the potent drug will have a drastic change intellectually.…

I have been working on an essay for my composition class. Naturally, I had to write about marijuana! Marijuana is a very honest and controversial issue in society today. Many have been slanderous claims have been made about cannabis in recent history, the truths are slowly starting to come forward. There is so much criticism due to the stereotypical view of what people view as "pot smoker". America thinks that "pot smokers" is the lazy and unmotivated kids of our generation who don't do anything. It is misinformation spread by private interest who needed cannabis illegal for their own personal gains. I strongly believe that marijuana should be legalized for all users.…

After reading and listening to this debate over marijuana in the state of Alabama, I would use two different strategies for applying creativity towards this issue. I would use improving things and redefining concept. To improve on this idea of legalizing marijuana for medical reasons and making possession of marijuana a slap on the wrist for the first offense, I need to look at the broad spectrum of the outcome of these bills if they were to pass. Research would be a vital role in knowing the facts and showing the improving ways or redefining the concept of marijuana as a legal product for the people of Alabama to have. Writing down all the key…

If schools could educate students more on the topic it could help decrease the amount of teens who use drugs. Parents could also talk to teens about the consequences of using drugs. One thing that is being used in schools is the DARE program, unfortunately this is usually taught to students in middle school. Teens might not remember what they learned or don’t think it can harm them if they are not fully aware of the consequences.…

When I started my research I was initially interested in marijuana legalization and the debate between why or why not our country should legalize the substance all together. However, throughout my time researching valid points on why cannabis is illegal now and reasons why it shouldn’t be illegal, I found myself more drawn to the psychological studies of the substance. The certain psychological effects the drug has on certain people became very appealing to me, as I wanted to learn more and find out the reason marijuana effects some people in a psychologically negative way. The one thing that turned me on to further investigate the topic of the psychological effects of marijuana, was when…

Today in America, millions of American citizens are both confused and outraged by the fact that there are still laws that are preventing people from using one of the most popular and controversial, illegal substances in the world: marijuana. According to recent polls, fifty percent of Americans want marijuana to be completely legal and decriminalized (Blodget), and a whopping eighty percent of Americans want it to be at least legalized for medical use (RangelMD). So why do so many Americans want marijuana to be legalized? To some this question can be easily answered, but to others, it’s not so simple. There are way too many reasons to count why people think marijuana should or should not be legal or illegal. However, one cannot deny the many effects decriminalizing marijuana would have on our rights, our safety, and our economy.…
