According to a recent study, playing active video games will help in keeping the body-to-mass ratio of a person while reducing the amount of body fat (Maddison et al. 160). This type of video game might not be as strenuous as real exercise routines, but it gives a desirable result for anyone who likes to play games trying to stay fit.
Also, video games can be an alternative form of treatment for patients with mental disorders. A specific game can be developed by a willing organization for this type of use. A study about the plausibility of video games as a therapy was conducted and the results seem to prove that it is effective. Fernández-Aranda et al. stated in their paper, "...after using this video game strategy, the patients started to show new coping styles with negative emotions in normal stress life situations, additional generalization patterns and more self-control strategies when confronted with them"
