It is inevitable that the story ends with the occurrence of a death, however, I always assumed it would be Kate. The death of Anna makes for a much more heart wrenching novel, that leaves the audience stunned, yet, I find it very dissatisfying. I feel as though the ending of the novel would have left me more satisfied if Kate was the one to pass. It has been Kate’s wish all along to die and Anna’s wish to live a normal teenage life, however, Anna’s passing grants each wish to the opposite sister, leaving Kate with another chance of survival and Anna with no life ahead of her at all. …show more content…
