The Ephesian Elders Fascinating Paul In Acts 20: 1-14
The picture I drew is the Ephesian elders bidding Paul adieu before going on the boat. The apostles who were accompanying Paul in his journey in Acts 20:1-21:14 were Sopater, Aristarchus, Secundus, Gaius, Timothy, and Tychicus. They travelled through Greece, Tyre, and Caesarea. Instead of trying to convert in this journey, Paul and his companions were hoping to motivate and strengthen the belief of several churches and elders instead. In Acts 20:1-21:14, it shows us multiple events of God using Paul as His chosen instrument which makes this journey successful. Paul was able to perform a miracle, act upon Acts 1:8, as well as speak to various churches and elders. While Paul was visiting Toras, he raised a young man, named Eutychus from the dead (Acts 20:7-12). During midnight, Paul was talking to an audience; Eutychus was present but ended up …show more content…
Unfortunately, he fell from a window on the third floor and died. “Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” (Acts 20:10). This miracle exposed the people to the amazing things that God can do through you if you have faith and believe. When Paul was with the Ephesian elders, he told them vital information of what would happen when joining the Way. “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God… I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come among you and will not spare the flock… Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20: 28-32). Paul advises them to supervise and protect their brothers and sisters as well as themselves and to fulfill the Christian Mission. In addition, Paul warns them of false teachers and those who want to bring the members of God’s church away from God. Paul also shared

Evangelism in the early church is very different from evangelism today. In the Early Church, the bible says that “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.” (Acts 4:32-35). So we see that there was unity in the church and the church shared everything with each other. David wheeler writes that the church did not hide or run from the unsaved world. They were not afraid to be with other people but were out braking bread daily with all people. The early church relied on the Holy Spirit and was lead by Him. David Wheeler writes that the Holy Spirit was the motivating power of the early church .Also the early church was consistent with the message of the gospel. They did not change the gospel or twist the truth so others would not get offended. They early church was filled with boldness (Acts 4:31).…

Introduction: White light is composed of many different wavelengths of light combined together. A spectrophotometer is an instrument that shines a single wavelength of light of a known intensity into a solution and then measures the intensity of the light exiting the solution. If a solution contains any compound that absorbs light, the intensity of light exiting the solution will be less than what entered the solution. On the other hand, if none of the compounds in the solution absorb at that wavelength of light, then the intensity of the light exiting the solution will be the same as that entering.…

It was on a journey to Damascus to arrest followers of Christ that Paul's life was changed forever. He experienced an intense light that blinded him, and he heard a voice that said, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" Saul asked, "Who are you, Lord?" The reply came, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting." (Acts 9:4,5) When Paul opened his eyes he was blind. His companions, who had also heard the voice but had not seen the light, led him into Damascus. There a man named Ananias, a follower of Jesus, placed his hands upon Paul and took away the blindness. He was baptized into the faith immediately. The beginning of Paul's new life was at hand. He would become, arguably, the most…

He let himself be open and vulnerable, let himself be comforted. Even while terminally ill, Paul was fully alive; despite physical collapse, he remained vigorous, open, full of hope not for an unlikely cure but for days that were full of purpose and meaning.” The last example is “You that seek what life is in death, Now find it air that once was breath. Sometimes they were invited to speak at the synagogue by somebody who already knew them and who was a prominent figure in the city. A second place where they gathered people were the households. People who had converted to Christianity and who had a place for meetings, invited Paul and his companions along with locals to gather together at their households where they listened to the Word of God and share a meal. When Paul and his companions preached in a city, everybody got to know they were around because of the huge density of population that the city had.…

Men of God’s calling have spent years studying scripture and spent thousands of dollars at universities and colleges attempting to learn the truth of God’s word. They study to not only validate their own faith but to have that boldness that the apostles demonstrated as they followed the last command of Jesus, to spread the gospel thought all the world. Their mission is to counsel, to instruct, to teach, to explain and to lay the foundation of belief for the eternal reward of salvation. Their integrity is laid on the line, one slip and all the good they have produced with sincere intentions and devotions could be lost in the twinkle of an eye. What motivates a man to do good and what tempts him to turn from the truths that he teaches and believes in himself? We will examine a few ethical and moral traps that have snared many of God’s servants in today’s society.…

Here we have these scriptural bible texts. I will go through with you, about the miraculous way of Jesus's healing, and his stories he would share to make a point, message, or moral. Parables are a simple story used to illustrate moral or spiritual lesson, as told by Jesus in the gospel while meaning not stated it is often obvious. A miracle is an event which the forces of nature-including the natural powers of man-cannot of themselves produce, and which must therefore, be referred to a supernatural agency. Bible miracles, has two different miracles; healing and nature. This essay will talk about two stories, a healing miracle and a parable.…

As a result of Pauls conversion he was inspired to spreads the gospel. In order to do this he had to travel, so he did! He went on three main journeys; his first, which was also the shortest, he was accompanied by Barnabas. The journey ended when Paul returned to Jerusalem for the council. He spoke to all the Jews and Gentiles (which he had previously been working with) and convinced them that they should hear about Jesus. His second journey was in Athens and Corinth, and travelled with Silas. Paul preached to everyone and his message was always “Jesus has come for all and there is a place in the Christian community for everyone who puts their faith in the risen Lord”. In Paul’s third journey he revisited many of the Christian communities he had written to. One of them was at Ephesus. There he preached against the…

Paul was born in Tarsus in Asia Minor around 10BCE, as Saul. He was a Roman citizen and was of the pharisaic tradition - a Jewish sect, distinguished by strict observance of the traditional and written law. Paul was disgusted by the Christian movement as he, along with all other Jews, believed that Yahweh was the one true God and therefore Jesus was seen as a blasphemer. He began persecuting the followers of Jesus for straying away from Jewish tradition and believed he was doing the will of God. It was not until his trip to Damascus that Paul underwent a dramatic and heavenly inspired change of heart. According to Acts 9:4, Paul was blinded by a bright light then heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him. This revelation convinced Paul that God had indeed chosen Jesus to be the promised messiah. Following this, Paul was guided to the city of Damascus where a man known as Ananias was given instructions by God to lay his hands on Paul. He was instantly healed. Paul was baptized and changed his name from Saul to Paul. Through his dramatic conversion he was able to find truth from Jesus and began to share these new truths with the early Christian churches on his missionary journeys.…
