One factor that can help someone to become a successful deer hunter is knowing the seasonal habits of deer. Deer are very interesting animals, and unlike …show more content…
Although many believing that the hunting of deer is wrong, there is some spiritual evidence that can prove otherwise. For example, Deuteronomy 14:4-5 says, “These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, (5) the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the mountain goat, the antelope, and the mountain sheep.” In these verses God specifically tells his people that they may eat deer. These verses show that God is not against hunting. With this however, they should not be slaughtered for pleasure either. Another important ethic to consider is the fact that if deer were not hunted they would experience overpopulation and starvation. If deer are not hunted yearly, the number of deer in given areas begin to increase. As this number increases over the years, the deer herds begin to experience overpopulation. As this happens, these deer have to compete harder for the foods in their given areas. As they eat these food, this can lead to the decrease of other types of animal life. For example, if the deer herd in a given area was overpopulated, the deer would begin to eat various bushes and plants in order to survive. As these plants begin to dwindle in number the deer begin to experience starvation due to the lack of vegetation that they feed on. This starvation is a sad and unfortunate way for any one of God’s creatures to die. By understanding the ethics of deer hunting one can gain a piece of mind about them hunting. By viewing the verses of scripture above, one can see that they are not going against God’s wishes in the concept hunting deer. In addition to this one can also see that by hunting they help to decrease the deer population and reduce the chances of overpopulation. By viewing these facts one can create a peace of mind for themselves. One that can ensure them that they are hunting for the right reasons. This
