Misproportion and larger consumption has led consumers to eat more than necessary. As fast foods become cheaper and affordable means that Americans could get more for less money which American restaurants see this as an opportunity to interest young Americans specifically. Consequently this has caused the growth of larger foods and Americans weight has followed accordingly. In the early 1970s the era of fast food consumption begun due to the kids parents being busy with work especially since women began to work in that era as well, the fast food corporations created a market around those kids and began a marketing strategy lowering prices and spending ridiculous amounts of money on advertisements. Today everyone has a television in their home and they are usually on their phones and watching t.v at the same time. Parents tend to do the same and why would a child go outside if a parent does not influence that child to do so. Children and parents should both be educated and aware of what these processed foods are doing to their bodies. If educated most people would. consume fast foods less, but they wouldn't totally leave. This generation needs to eat healthy and exercise more so when the next generation starts they will know the dangers of fast foods can cause. Preventing the younger generation from falling into the claws of the fast food industry can create a major impact on overweight people with health problems.
