The Feasibility of Lemon Grass Extract as Anti-Oxidant (Not Mine)
The fesibility of Lemon Grass Extract as Anti-oxidant

Abstract

This research aims to determine the ideal amount of quality effect for using anti – oxidant by getting the extract of lemon grass. The lemon grasses were chopped at the constant size and pressured afterwards and were tested for their physical appearance and effeitinity.

After the preliminary test in finding out the best insulator for the making of anti – oxidant out of extract lemon grass. 46 people were tested in different conditions in their body. Every 3 days, a batch of 4 280ml bottles of anti – oxidant were released from the researcher, tested and observed. After 2 weeks of testing, a conclusion was made that the most number of people, resulted in good effect are about 33 people.

Source: Leihana C. TaguiamAbstract:Fungi are one-celled organisms that cause discomfort and health risks in living organisms. The purpose of this study is to control the growth of fungal pathogens. Aspergillus flavus, Penicillum specie and Curvularia specie. By using pure extract of lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus), Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) and 50/50 combination of both. The study focuses in determining which of the three treatments will inhibit specific fungi. After being tested and identified which among of the three treatments is the best, we suggested using it as an additive in cosmetics and medicine.In-vitro testing comprised the methods of identifying the anti-fungal property of the treatments. From the collection of plant samples to reading and analyzing of data, fungus growth took for four days then the treatment assignment was conducted. The fungi must have similar growth rate to have accurate results. Results showed that pure extract of Lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus) is the only treatment that controls the growth of Aspergillus flavus. The two other treatments failed to inhibit all three fungal pathogens. Pure extract of Lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus) can be used as an additive to some cosmetics and medicine because of its anti-fungal property against Aspergillus flavus. Adjustments of concentrations should be conducted upon Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) to prove the effectiveness and to test its suitability as a moisturizer. Further experimentation may also identify the active component of Lemon Grass (Cymbopogon citratus) that makes it as an anti-fungal against Aspergillus flavus. Future researchers can use the pure Lemon grass extract (Cymbopogon citratus) as an additive to cosmetics and develop this to…

The project, utilization of lemon grass (Cymbopogon citrates) as craft paper manufacture, can benefit all the people including the students, for it can save money from buying commercial craft papers. It can also lessen the cutting of trees which is the main source of paper. The proponents of this study want to know if the lemon grass paper can be a good quality of paper compared to the commercial ones. The materials of this project are all locally available. The procedure starts with the washing of lemon grass and having it air dry. When the leaves are dry, weigh the leaves and cut it to smaller pieces. Place the leaves in the beaker with NaOH and boil it in the stove with medium fire. After boiling, wash again the leaves and grind it. Place the leaves in the molder and let it dry. In the data, figure 1 states the comparison of lemon grass with commercial craft paper. It is stated that the color, odor, texture and the prices of these papers are different but the quality is the same. In figure 2, there are two trials; the grass boiled for 10 minutes and the grass boiled for 30 minutes. It is shown in the data that the second trial is better than the first. The proponents have proven that paper can be made of lemon grass and is different with the commercial craft paper. The use of bleach and fabric conditioner can make the quality of the paper…

This study will test the effect of orange and calamondin on fruit fly. The researcher used these materials because of some proven related studies. The researcher started conducting this research last November 2012. This study used the following materials and specimen: The researcher prepared 500ml hot water, 1 cup of sour orange peels, and 11 pieces of calamondin juiced, blender and 2 slices of jack fruit. The following were grouped into two and labeled each as A and B. The jackfruits were used to test the product. The orange peels and hot water was mixed in the blender then set aside for 12 hours then added the calamondin juice. The extract was sprayed on the jackfruit in group A then set aside for 30 minutes same with group B except that it didn’t receive any extract. The fruit flies that went on each group were counted after 30 minutes. The process was repeated 3 times to test more if it will be effective. On the results, the researcher found out that there is more fruit flies went over group B than group A. The test used the Analysis of Variance or ANOVA to test if there is a/no significant difference between the 2 groups. Based on the ANOVA table, there is a F-value computed of 8.7 and F-value tabular of 3.68. The computed was higher than the tabular value. The researcher concluded that there is a significant difference in using orange and calamondin to fruit fly and there is a significant differencebetween the product and the commercially used repellent.…

Cancer has been a leading cause of death worldwide and will still be the same on the future if necessary actions will not be done. A lot of people can be affected by this disease yet not all of them have the access of expensive and artificial treatments. The researchers are urged to discover a natural and effective for stopping tumour vascularisation. In this study, the pericarp of the Calabash (Crescentia Cujete) is utilized as an effective treatment for stopping tumour vascularisation. The obtained 457g of Calabash Fruit pericarp was soaked by solvent extraction using 1.5L 95%-Hexane and 1.5L 95%-Ethanol for 24 hours each. The extract was filtered and evaporated using rotary evaporator for 3 hours and further dried for 24 hours. The residual crude extract was poured in a glass container. The extracts were tested through Chorioallontoic Membrane Assay (CAM).The CAM Assay gave the following results. The mesh indices of the different concentration (25%, 50%, 100%) of the extracts, and the positive and negative control were the following: 285.663, 280.534, 166.008, 176.162, and 244.049.The result of the Chorioallontoic Membrane Assay showed that the extract showed no significant difference to the positive control so it is showed that the extract also has anti-angiogenic effect to the chick embryo. The anti-angiogenic property only shows when 100% concentration (dose-dependent) of the extract is injected to the egg. The researcher concluded that the Calabash Fruit Pericarp has anti-angiogenic effect thus having the potential of halting tumor vascularisation.…
