The Feeling of Joy
Joy
“Joy comes from happiness within and looking at things from a different point of view” Joy means “an act of happiness”. When we hear the word joy or even think of it, what really comes to mind? Happiness, bliss and cheerfulness, happiness is one of the major factor’s that help us to understand what joy really is. Most people are joyful when they succeed, because joy comes from success. They base their joy on success because it’s big representation in life.
Can joy really come from success because, when we think of success it usually involves having a lot of money or being famous. Sadly, joy has been mistaken for success when we don’t know the true meaning of joy. People usually think of success as having your picture on the cover of magazines, in movie scenes and having people talk about you on a daily base. They don’t realize that people who attain success in this way all the time are not happy, because it’s not something they really want to do. Most successful people are not happy with the success they have, because they can’t find joy in what they do. This is the reason why most successful people fall under the influence of drugs and alcohol, because they can’t take the pressure of having that type of success. In fact, success with the involvement of fame and money cannot give you joy because it only takes away the true definition of what joy is.
Joy can only come from success if it is attaining something that you wanted for so long. When people experience true success they are happy. Success can’t come overnight, but with hard work and dedication you can become a true success and this when you really feel the joy of having success. Joy can only come from success if you’re truly happy with what you’re doing to be successful. Having success and joy in life is what everyone one wants and ask for. When you really have both there’s nothing else you could ask for, because you have just accomplish what everyone in the world wants and desire. There for great

Happiness comes from within. Many people could be living in the same environment and facing the same challenges but some seem to be happier than others. No matter what one’s challenges are, it is one’s choice and decisions to live a happy and content life. There has been an unfounded belief that the rich are happier than the poor but research has given contradicting results. I cannot say that I have lived a happy life but after watching the “Happy” documentary, I am now ready to live positively and happily no matter what circumstances I am facing. I have realized that we make ourselves unhappy by complaining about the problems we face in our day-to-day life rather than appreciating the good side of life. Not desiring for happiness and going into the act of pursuing it makes us happier. The simplest way of achieving happiness overall is by taking in the simple enjoyments of life as they come. The enjoyments in life “are sufficient to make it a pleasant thing”. In other words we don’t need to strive for happiness, when we could so effortlessly achieve it by enjoying life as it comes. Once these expectations begin for the outcome of the enjoyments, our happiness ends. If we try to attain happiness our enjoyments “are immediately felt to be insufficient” The constant push for happiness…

In the article “Get Out of the Groove,” it is acknowledged that “human beings are constantly trying to make sense of the world” (de Lange). This suggests that people often do not realize what actually makes them happy, because they are too busy focusing on attempting to know everything about the world around them. For some people, it takes multiple things for them to feel happy. Often, they feel as if they can never reach full happiness (Flora, 66). However, in the article, “Just for the Joy of it,” it is argued that “scientific research has shown us that the spark of kindness resides in everyone and that even small actions can fan that spark into a flame (Zakrzewski, 26). This shows that, while de Lange and Flora believe that happiness is acquired through activities within oneself, Zakrzewski believes that happiness actually comes more from appreciating the smaller things in…

I learned in D.A.R.E that smoking and doing drugs can affect how you breath and it will turn your lungs a black moldy color. D.A.R.E helps you make good decisions on what to do if somebody asks if you want a cigarette or if they want you to drink with them. One of the things that I learned in D.A.R.E is peer pressure and peer pressure can be bad or good. One of the things that you feel when you have peer pressure is stress and what do I do. One example for peer pressure is if somebody cool asks if you want to smoke so that would be a negative feeling of peer pressure because you want to be cool but you know you get in trouble when your parents found out. A good example for peer pressure is somebody gets you to go and make a friend that you noticed they barely have friends so thats good peer pressure.…

Happiness results after you have spent countless hours working on something or toward a goal. Heaps of joy can result when you attain your goal. Success can also be considered triumph or even a “Hollywood ending”. Success is not considered a defeat, loss, failure, or money. Yes, some have acquired money due to their success, but success cannot be compared to money. Someone once said, “No one is going to hand me success. I must go out and get it myself. That’s why I’m here. To dominate. To conquer. Both the world and myself” (Famous). Success will never just be handed to you; you must be dedicated to work toward it…

Success can differ from person to person based on what they want to achieve. “Success is counted sweetest; by those who ne’er succeed…” (Dickinson 1-4). This can also be made as a reference to envy. People want what they do not have. To feel success at its sweetest, “to comprehend a nectar” one must feel the “sorest need” or great hardship either through failure or with obstacles. Overcoming these obstacles will lead to one’s success and to some, success is the sweetest to those who cherish the opportunity.…

Setting goals, compromise, fight, tears, dedication, long hours of hard work, victory. “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If [a person loves what they are doing, they will be successful].” This was the definition of Success according to Albert Schweitzer, a German philosopher. The truth is that this statement can be interpreted differently according to each person’s perspective or goals. For some people, when they think, what success is, usually the first thing that comes to their mind is a person with a great career and a stable economic position. However, for others, having a happy personal life defines the word success. Success can be based upon meeting several needs. These include the self, business, family, environment, material things, community, work, spiritually, business, and friends. But, what is the real meaning of success? Like everything else in life, a balance of these areas could be more accurate. Undeniably, Success can be defined as the result of sacrifice, patience and hard work.…
