The Floating Paradise
“A diamond floating in the midst of deep waters.” Biliran is an island like a floating diamond which if seen clearly would resemble a paradise; a paradise with untouched beauty of nature. It is wrapped with wild rainforests, rare landmarks, fascinating landscapes and deep, blue waters.
The island of Biliran is named after a creeping plant called “Buro-Biliran.” This magnificent and extraordinary island is found in the Eastern Visayas region here in the Philippines. Biliran Island, historically, is a part of the Leyte Province but somehow, it is turned to a small but united province.
Biliran is filled with prestigious landscapes and extraordinary landscapes. With its eight simple and cultural towns, Biliran is envied by many provinces here in the Philippines. Its eight towns with people that gives a warm welcome to visitors are: Almeria, Biliran, Caibiran, Cabucgayan, Culaba, Kawayan, Maripipi, and Naval.
Tinago Falls is one of the magnificent spots that can be found here in Biliran. It is an example of untouched work of nature. With its furious height and shivering waters, many tourists usually visit this magnificent spot. As of its discovery, the Biliran local government started to improve the natural beauty of this wonderful falls.
Another wonderful tourist spot here in the small but magnificent island of Biliran is Iyusan Rice Terraces. It is the Biliranon resemblance of
more the popular Banaue Rice Terraces in Luzon. Although it is not a natural tourist spot, this landscape should be idolized because this proves that Biliran has its own ancestors. This magnificent landscape is found in the town of Almeria, here in the prestigious island of Biliran.
Turtle Island is another marvelous work of nature and at the same time an eye-catching landscape. It is found between the two cultural towns of Biliran; Kawayan and Maripipi. As its name implies,
